not really cause they are to different things a diabetic can have low sugars and hypoglycemia is a differnet condition

Hypoglycemia describes a condition causing low blood sugar. Low blood sugar is a term describing what is found at the present moment. If a diabetic or anyone else has a blood sugar under 60, that is low. With a meal, it can go back up.

medical term hypo means low. Hyper means high. Hypoglycemia is the medical term for low blood sugar just like Diabetes Mellitus Type 1 means diabetic who is insulin dependent.

Hypoglycemia and Low blood sugar are one ond the same.
Hypoglycaemia (hi-po-gli-se'-mi-a)[Greek. hypo-below; glykys-sweet; haima-blood] Decreased blood sugar, attended by anxiety, excitement, perspiration, delirium or coma (insulin). Hypoglycawmia can be produced intentionally (insulin treatment) in schizophrenia.
