There is an awesome yahoo group called Picking up the Pieces... support group for people with herpes and hpv. There are a few nurses on the group that can answer all your questions and give you links to all kinds of great info.

Don't listen to the first guy. There are a lot of people out there who date or have dated people with herpes.
I have had genital herpes for over 5 years. I have a wonderful fiance and when I met him he didn't have genital herpes! So for someone to say "find another person who has herpes" is just plain stupid. I mean honestly, how would you go about doing that anyway? You wouldn't walk up to someone and ask them if they have genital herpes. There are tons of people out there who would date someone regardless if they have genital herpes. I have dated a number of guys throughout the years and not one guy has ever dumped me or decided not to date me because I have the virus. All you have to do is be careful and use protection.
