put in biohazard container and call local health dept to see if has resources where you can dispose of them...or you can wrap the container with duct tape and label on the outside hazardous waste...a good thing i found was the safety clip made by BD..it allows you to clip the needle from lancets and syringes and then you can just toss in the trash it only cost 5.00 at my local longs drug store..

Syringes are not considered bio hazard material, when used in the home, only in a medical office or hospital setting.
But for the consideration of others and my family members I put them in a bottle of some type Like the tide laundry soap bottles they are strong plastic, but I have used my Diet Mountain Dew bottles too. Remember to recap the bottle after its full and then I just toss them in the trash!
Its no big deal if you want to recap the needle and toss them in the trash each time, that's OK too, I use to buy all the fancy stuff like the needle clippers and the red bio boxes but its not really required nor needed.
Most state health departments will give you a red bio container for the asking, and you can drop it off there too, if you feel strongly about it.

If you don't have a bio-hazard box you can put your old syringes in a heavy plastic bottle. Ask the doctor or nurse what you should do next. In most states they are considered bio-hazardous and burnt. Hope this helps.

Deposit them in a special biohazard box that you should have received from your doctor/hospital, and bring it in to your hospital or clinic (or maybe even any hospital or clinic, you should ask) when it's full. They will destroy and dispose of them in the proper and safe way.

I believe you can purchase a bio-hazard waste box from the drug store for proper disposal.

Also check out these diabetes patients stories, I think you'll find it encouraging!!!

Put them in a red biohazard bag/box and bring them to any doctor's office. Or...ask your doctor how you should dispose of them.
