as everybody is different, i would probably think that it would be detected most hiv antibody is detected within 3weeks...

P24 is used for early purposes while after a month or so the antibodies test take over and probably will be detected if your friend was infected

I am not quite sure what you are asking but this is my answer. If you were thought to be exposed to HIV today, you would be tested today and then again in six months, and then again six months after that. HIV is not immediately detectable since it takes some time for the virus to invade your Helper T cells. It also takes time for your body to produce a chemical indicator or antibody to the HIV virus. I must tell you that the risk of someone being infected by someone with HIV by a needle stick or vomit is around 1%. Once the virus comes in contact with air it quickly dies. Therefore, tell your friend she will probably be OK. Many healthcare workers are exposed every day and are tested. It happens to the best of us.

If a person has had an HIV infection long enough that he/she is constantly sick, yes the Virus should be quickly detected by a blood test.

It is very possible for someone to have the virus but not the HIV. There are blood tests to find out what the viral load is. I would have no idea on the cost. The safest thing is not to take a chance, use all the precautions you can like gloves.

hiv can not show up for some time through a blood test. They are getting better but I have heard it can take years before it shows up.

Most likley but the incubation period for HIV is up to 9 years or more. Meaning that it could take that long to even show symptoms. But yeah it should be detected.
