I agree it's great tasting stuff... but if you are on a special diet to help you manage diabetes or pre-diabetes, it's not healthy for you. Unfortunately what makes it taste so good is that it is loaded with high-glycemic white flour and refined sugar, which can definitely spike your blood sugar levels. Even the healthier part of corn bread... the corn... is one of the few veggies a diabetic should stay away from because of the high sugar content.

Subsitute a yummy bowl of old-fashioned slow cooked oatmeal with cinnamon and some nonfat milk (no sugar!), and it will fill you up the same way without putting your health at risk!

You can't watch football on Sunday without a bowl of chili and a slice of cornbread smothered in butter!!! Go Steelers!!

I hate cornbread, it has the nastiest taste and texture!
Now if your talking about the saying, like a cornbread man, then yeah i like that :)

We have cornbread everyday with dinner.......its especially good with soupbeans and an onion, and the next day its good tore up and put in milk....gosh, can't wait till dinner now!

I love my mom's hot and salty cornbread crumbled up inside an ice cold glass of milk...helps digest all that squash and fried okra....mmm!

OH YEAH!! Jiffy brand - better than a lot of homemade versions that I have tried. YUMMM -- Especially with Navy Beans and Ham Hocks. Or Chili Beans.
