Make it a famous couples costume party( such as Marc Anthony & Cleopatra, Adam & Eve, Tim & Faith, etc.) Use your imagination for a diverse crowd ( Abbott & Costello, Superman & Wonder Woman) Just make sure the invitations indicate that couples should dress as famous couples.I went to one a few years back ( 6 million dollar man & Bionic woman were our outfits ) & had a blast!!

there is a book called Wedding Showers for Couples Festive and Traditional Wedding Themes.

It is written by Pamela Thomas. You should be able to get it from amazon.com, or possbily even yahoo shopping. i think it costs around $12 or so.

Good luck and enjoy the party

If the couple is older and doesn't really need much, you could do a Christmas ornament shower. I did one for a friend and it was a big hit.

We gave a lingerie party for the COUPLE. Outfits for both of them. They got Black Leather matching outfits (well sort of matching -- not much to his!!), etc. We laughed so hard, everyone was sore -- the couple just kept turning redder, which only made us laugh harder. They now have 4 kids!!! Enough said!! hehe
