The meat that comes from cattle ranching in what was once rainforest doesn't go anywhere near the US or Europe, because of it's inferior quality. Unlike some people have wrongly suggested, it never makes its way to our plates, but stayed in south America. Therefore, us meat eaters in Europe and the USA aren't contributing to the rainforest destruction, even by association.

On the other hand, the soy grown in the rainforest is eaten by veggies in Europe and the US, so they are contributing, albeit only by association (but they like to call us guilty by association when we eat meat, so screw them).

Technically, many chickens are fed upon soy, but that's not as big a problem as the veggies.

Well, actually, Soy takes up a lot of land to be grown in south america. But that doesn't even compare to all the land and water they use on stupid cattle so people can eat a pointless hamburger that's just making them obese w/ heart issues and parasites. Vegans are not eating rainforests...what the hell....our vegetables don't even grow in rainforests, they need damn sun.

You have any basis for this question?
Hamburger-producing cattle are destroying our "lungs," the rainforests. So, every time you eat a burger, you are destroying more of our planet.
If we all became vegetarians overnight, there would be such an abundance of food, that there would be no hungry people anywhere. Our planet, our bodies would be cleaner, and live longer.
We wouldn't have the waste and pollution you have from a meat-centered culture.
We could feed ourselves and a big part of the rest of the world. It would even help the obesity problem, worldwide.

Win, win, win.

Actually, acres and acres of rainforests are sacrificed to cattle farming every year, so McDonald's customers are actually the ones eating the rainforests.

I don't think they are. I think vegetarians are eating vegetables grown in places not related to rainforests.

What??????Vegetarians eat plants, not rainforests. their food is farmed, just like animals are farmed. the difference is between killing a plant and killing an animal or fish.
