a urinary tract infection is absolutely contagious. if you have unprotected sex with your partner and you get treated and rid of it, but you have sex with your partner, you will receive it again and again until both are treated and have gotten rid of it completely. during that time, you may not have unprotected sex so you can prevent it from swapping back and forth. it's not contagious to the world, but it is to whoever is going in your pants



and a comment on sweetie pie- a UTI is now considered a STD , a mild std, but nonetheless, it was placed under the right topic!

No. It is usually caused by an organism called E.coli with you get from your own body. (you don't want to know!) This is usually not contagious, but might be a good idea to abstain until you have been on antibiotics for a while and symptom free.

UTI is urinary tract infection. It isn't an STD (which is the section you put it in) and no, it isn't contagious.
