The virus that causes the warts never goes away---even if there are no warts visible.
You MUST see a doctor for treatment.
Genital warts are one of the most common STDs in the world now, and if you pass the virus along to a female sex partner, you will be giving her the virus that not only causes genital warts, but also causes cervical cancer in women.
Get medical help soon, and definitely do not have sex with anyone.

Hey there,
Yes, absolutely they can possibly go away on their own, but it could take MONTHS AND MONTHS, I've heard of some people taking 8 months. (That is an awful long time to deal with genital warts, especially when they spread!!!) Possibly is the key word there. It is really not reccomended that you wait it out though, because it's an even bigger possibility that you develop more warts. Genital warts are very contagious, do not have sex with anyone else. There are options to removing warts, aldara as someone mentioned is one. Cryotherapy is another, (where they are frozen off) Very effective and quick with some discomfort. Repeated visits to the doctor may be needed. You can talk to your doctor about what they feel is their method. Some doctors have a prefered method. The virus doesn't go away, but usually works its way out of your body in about 2 years, but trust me enough to go to your doctor soon.
Good luck :)

Yo, Yeah they will fall off, the cells are dead, go back to the doctor after two weeks for a check and they might freeze a bit more. Also, don't WORRY, genital warts are a Virus (HPV) and your immune system will eventually fight it off. Good old immune system! Keep using the cream, and dont have unprotected sex for the 2/3 months after they go away

If you have symptoms then I would go to the doctor and start using Aladara. It's a tropical cream to help boost your immune and fight the visible wart. HPV !"CAN"! go away from the human immune system filtering out the virus. These are the words from my gynecologist, straight out of her mouth. Please go to the doctor. The virus can cause cervical cancer and mainly in homosexual men, cancer in the penis. Please get it check out!

I think you've been misinformed. I thought they may go away but will come back, and even if they are gone you can still pass them to someone else.

They DO NOT go away on their own. They have to be removed, and sometimes more than once, as they may reappear.
