A decrease in the blood flow to the heart muscle.
This can make you feel like you are having a heart attack and in essence you are part way there.
A heart attack would be the complete blockage of blood flow to the heart muscle and the area dies off.
With ischemia, you don't kill of the heart but it is starved for oxygen rich blood.
ANY CASE IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED BEFORE YOU HAVE A HEART ATTACK...

myocardial ischemia means lack of oxygen rich blood supply to the muscles of ur heart, which is being supplied by the coronary artery. this is commonly caused by a blockage of the coronary artery by a clot or a narrowing of the coronary artery by formation of plaques. when either of these happens, there will be no blood supply coming to your heart and, as a result, the heart will pump more to compensate to the diminishing blood supply, making the heart muscles demand more oxygen, but still, there is no blood supply coming to the muscles of the heart and will therefore cause chest pain.
the chest pain is already a sign of myocardial ischemia. if u experience this, u should go to the hospital immediately because if this is not treated early, it will result to death of the heart muscle cells, and its ability to pump blood to the whole body will stop and the body's cells will die too if this happens.

Myo means muscle and cardia heart so in English this originally Greek word would be =myocardial =pertaining to heart muscle
Ischimia in English ischemia, also originally Greek, means deficiency or lack of oxygen which stems in body tissues from too little blood flow to what the tissue would need.
So in essence=myocardial ischemia is too little blood for the heart muscle itself usually due to narrowing of the blood vessels supplying the heart muscle.
A permanent, bad ischemia leads to infarct, in which the tissue dies due to lack of oxygen. Ischemia can also go away and happen only during excercise for example.
Myocardial ischemia usually leads to pain in heart and can have other names and be called for example angina pectoris (=chest pain from the heart).
Heart disease in common use of the name often means myocardial ischemia.
