Hello,

I have read articles, that people can have the disease, but dosen't affect them but they can pass it on to others.

The virus is in bodily fluids and gets spread by contact. But there are people who can never get infected because their T-cells (the cells that HIV attacks) lack receptors and therefore the virus can't latch on and invade the host cell. In these people, the virus dies in a few days so I guess they technically "carry" the virus for those few days. Many women who have this genetic trait who live in third world countries work as prostitutes so they probably carry the virus most of the time anyway.

No. If you have never come into contact with the blood or body fluids of someone who is infected with HIV, Then you don't carry the virus. You can't transmit something to others that you don't have yourself.

The only carriers of HIV are those infected with that virus. No one can be only a Carrier. Every one infected with HIV will get AIDS and will die of it.

NO NO NO. You cannot be JUST a carrier. If you are infected you are infected. It might take awhile before you have symptoms and you could pass it on to other people that would get it and they could have symptoms before you - but you are still infected and the disease would progress to "full blown" AIDS eventually. There is still not cure.

you can be a carrier. the virus could remain dormant in your body for a quite a few years, undetectable to the HIV/AIDs tests that people take.

Yes. They can be "carriers" and never show signs, but can still infect people.

No. You can't "just" be a carrier.

If you have the virus, you can pass it, and you will eventually get sick. If you think you have it, get tested and get on treatment if your test is positive.

you can be born with it, but by the time you would be able to know what it actually is, you could have already lost the battle to it
