HPV is a virus that can cause genital warts. In women in can cause warts in the uterous that could potentialy maybe become cancerous, but it only increases your odds of getting cancer a little. As long as you get regular PAP tests, there is absolutely nothing to worry about. If precancerous warts develop, you may have to get them removed. According to some statistics nearly 75% of sexually active adults have been exposed to this virus. Anyone who has had unprotected sex with more than 2 partners, you probably has it, even if they show no symptoms. In most people it is eventually supressed by the immune system and they will have no symptoms (warts) but may still be carrying the virus.

Having HPV does not necessarily mean you have cancer. It is true however that women with HPV have a higher chance of developing cervical cancer. HPV does not threaten cancer in men. Next time you go for a check up at the doctor, have him or her check you for cancer. If your spouse is a man, he can visit a dermetologist.

HPV (Human papilloma virus) It does not mean you have cancer. However, they are the cells that could eventually lead to cancer of the cervix, and that is why the doctors keep a very close on you with frequent pap smears if you are positive for HPV.

HPV, is a virus that will never go away. It stays in your system. As for it to going into the cancer stage is up to your immune system. As a peson with HPV, I have been battling this for nearly 5 years and no signs of cancer cells in my cervix. The only known cure for this virus is do not STRESS for it will bring it back. If you leave the virus untested and never get it removed than you will develop cervical cancer. Also, be aware this virus can spread to your vagina or other parts of the woman's reproductive organs. Ever in doubt get it tested. If you do have it your OB doctor should already be monitoring your virus. This is one virus you NEVER ignore. Any virus you never ignore. No one here can ease your frustrations but I am hanging in there every day of my life ever since I was diagnosed in 2001. Its the most frighten thing to ever experience. My husband at the time never got tested. Until I divorced him in May 2005. Actually, when I stopped having sex with him in Aug 2004. I have been clear of the virus since Aug 2005. Once a HPV victim you never will be at ease for this virus is unpredictable. It will not be here and than 4-10 years later it shows up even if you never had sex with any man. The onset of this virus is stress and poor nutrition. So, first thing to do once you get done reading anymore posts is go see your OB doctor and request a test and start yourself on a nutritional diet and reduce any stress you may have in your life. Good luck and remember to pray for this is God's plans for you to be ill....

HPV is a virus that could make you pre-cancerous and it doesn't necessary mean that you have cancer, but your chances of getting cervical or uterine cancer are greater.

If you have HPV, then you only have HPV. You would need a different test to determine if you have cancer.
Your spouse should be tested ASAP.
