Generally they are made with hydrogenated oils and not milk or butter, thus they should be avoided for health reasons- not ethics.

yes, but they must be real carefule they don't choke on them.
Cause if they did and had to go to the emergency room then the whole world would find out they are a fake vegetarian, one that thirsts for the flesh of beasts!

veggies can, but vegans don't. lacto-ovo vegetarians still consume dairy products. they just don't eat meat. it's really up to the individual though to make their own rules that are best for them...
