The HIV virus (which causes AIDS) is not native to the human body. It's a virus, same as chickenpox. You need someone that has chickenpox to get chickenpox. If neither partner has HIV, they can have anal sex together all they want and never contract HIV/AIDS (though this practice certainly has its own inherent risks of trauma, blood infections of native colonic bacteria, hemorrhoids, not to mention causing one hell of a bloody, smelly mess)

But remember that HIV is contracted not by sex alone. It can be introduced into the body through any contaminated body fluid (blood, semen, and yes even saliva although u need to drink 8 gallons of saliva for the virus to become significantly infectious). Sharing needles, getting accidentally pricked by infected sharp objects, etc can put you at risk or even your partner (if exposed to these things) to getting HIV/ AIDS.

The only way to know that is for both partners it get an HIV test, because if either of you have AIDS it can be transmitted. Also protected anal sex is wise due to all that bad bacteria and feces that your penis comes in contact with. Think about it. Are you sure your partner is HIV free. Be safe. Get the test. The test is a lot easier than living with guilt.

AIDS is not CAUSED by anal sex. Anal sex is just one of the ways that AIDS can be transmitted from one person to another.
