I had a sandwich in London that was just plain awful. I don't know how someone can screw up a sandwich, but apparently the British are so bad at cooking food, they even messed this one up. What was supposed to be a ham sandwich tasted like they just put a slab of Crisco with some liquid smoke on what tasted like uncooked dried bread dough.

The thing that I really had trouble swallowing was

Scottish Haggis

made from a sheeps stomach and other parts I'd rather not even remember.
I tasted one spoonful and gave the rest to my mother (I thought it was gross...She thought it was great!)

Sounds like yours was Chicken Satay (It's an indonesian dish chicken with peanut sauce)

I love almost ANYTHING I eat, but there is a tie between the two worst things of all time.

1. Cow Tounge - it's a HUGE toungue just chillin on a plate, it smells horrible and HELLO it's a freakin tongue!!!

2. Kufta - it's an Armenian dish that my family made me try. It's totally rare ground beef in a marinade. I was very close to throwing up.

Chitterlings. It is boiled hog intestines and it is no "soul food" to this Southerner! I'm not even sure whether I tasted it or not, but I did have it on my plate contaminating the rest of my food. It smells horrible when it is cooking. Unfortunately, that Sunday morning, on top of everything else, I had a hangover and had to go to Mass and could not tell my mother who came up to the university to visit me what was going on that morning. Our black friends were preparing a traditional "soul food" dinner and my stomach was queasy for the longest that day. Yuk!

Since we have moved here to Italy, I have had some pretty scary dishes. One was pasta, ( I normally love pasta and seafood, but this is nothing like what I have had in the States!) and it had these fish-crawdad looking scary things in it! I was trying to force myself to eat it! We are American and we were at our landlord's house for dinner and I didn't want to be rude, but it was so nasty!

Lobster wontons. They tasted more like pork dumplings. And I love pork dumplings but not if they are supposed to be Lobster Wontons.

All of the Asian food I have eaten has been beyond disappointing.
