I am 23 and started to get frequent yeast infections about 1 or 2 years ago. My doc asks me every time I see her if diabetes runs in the family, and I tell her no. She doesn't seem too concerned after that. I am on the pill which I've heard can cause yeast problems in some women, and at that time I was eating a lot of sugar which I've heard can cause infections. When I cut down on sugar I don't notice the problem as often or at all. I'm not obese. I just quit smoking. I'm active and nobody in my family has it. Should I still get tested for it anyway?

I don't think I pee more than normal. Maybe 3 or 5 times a day. Unless I'm drinking lots of fluids.

Yes because diabetes can come up at anytime during a persons life. Maybe if you had a sudden life style change or eating habits or your urine color not the same maybe darker maybe different then these are signs to look for. You can live with diabetes for the rest of your life and still have a good life and have fun.

thats tough, do you drink ? alcohol can increase suseptability to yeast. Do you douche? if it is not a vinegar douche with slightly acidic Ph, it could be the cause. The yeast treatment may not be appropriate and you may have pokets of residual infection.. How often do you have sex-- your sex partner(s) may be reinfecting you.. Adult onset dm often contributes to frequent infections....and it is easy to diagnose GET THE GLUCOSE TOLERANCE TEST,, that will tell for sure

As far as I know this is not related to diabetes. Are you urinating frequently? If so this is a possible symptom.

Of course. It is cheap, and it only takes a few minutes of your time. Blood work will rule this out quickly.
