Vegetarian Bacon? That's a bit of an anomaly, isn't it? I admit that I am a carnivore, so I find it difficult to understand why someone who likes bacon want it made out of vegetables. You can only get bacon from pigs! Either you want to eat meat, then go ahead, if you don't - have a Brussels sprout sandwich. I am just trying to be practical and I don't understand veggies - maybe I should ask the question! My husband had a niece who reckons that she is a veggie - but will eat cheese made with rennet. Her I can understand to some extent - she doesn't like the taste of meat - but you, you want it to taste like bacon. And by the way, just in case you suspect otherwise, I am an animal lover, I have had well cared for pets for most of my life - and we regularly donate to a particular animal charity (go to the search engine 'click now' to find out who that is). Oh, and Tesco's used to sell kangaroo meat - just like rump steak - but I haven't seen that for ages, either.

It might not be sold everywhere. I know they still have it on the east coast. A good alternative is Lightlife's Smart Bacon if you can find that. It's actually better for you.

To Dave S.:

Since when does a slab of bacon look like a pig or a burger look like a cow? I see no resemblance.

If you mean in the States then yes. I'm in the Northeast. They sell it in Stop-n-Shop and a couple of other of our local chains.

Dave is, or course, a retard. Probably a lonely teenager who's gone off to whaack off on a porn site. Disregard his negative comment.

If you ask at the Customer Services desk, they will put in a request for you. You might be lucky enough to get a regular supply.

Try Super Wal-Mart if there is one by you. Also, Morningstar Farms a website, maybe you could use the "contact us" button to find out where you can buy it locally.

large branches of Sainsburys still sell it, but if you click on this link, you can find a list of who stocks and sells it and how to get in touch with them.

Why do veggies always crave there food to look like ours, what's wrong with a soya bean looking like a bean rather than a piece of meat?
