Kosher is from the Hebrew word kasher, which means "fit" and "proper". The term is usually used for food that Jews are permitted to eat under dietary laws that are derived from passages in the biblical books of Leviticus and Deuteronomy.
Some elements of Jewish and Islamic dietary laws are common, while some are not. Here are some major differences:
Kosher
Blessing on animals :Blessing before entering slaughtering area, not on each animal
Gelatin from:
Dry Bones :Maybe
Skin and Bones: From kosher animals only Fish: Kosher fish only
Pork: Allowed by some liberal orthodox rabbis
Alcohol Permitted, depending on source
Combining Dairy & Meat Not permitted
Special Occasion Additional restrictions during Passover
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...
Halal
Blessing on animals: Blessing on each animal while slaughtering
Gelatin From:
Dry Bones: Halal animals only
Skin and bones: Halal animals only
Fish: Any Fish
Pork: Not Allowed at ALL
Alcohol, Not permitted
Combining Dairy & Meat, not an issue
Special Occasion, Same rules apply all the time
Yeah you kinda got the concept, staring / making eye contact with a girl doesn't mean the guy likes her. In MY perspective, it can mean three things: 1. The guy is comfortable talking to the girl, and is comfortable with her presence around (just friends). I plenty of friends that are girls and I always make eye contact when I talk to them, it's just casual u kno? 2. The guy wants to meet the girl / is interested in her (acquaintance). Either that, or... the girl is weird-looking or ugly lol. But still, guys wouldn't stare at a girl that long if she's like that. 3. The guy likes the girl. He doesn't know how to express his feelings, but wishes he could find a way to do so. I would tell you straight up how to tell which one of these views does a guy mean when he makes eye contact or stares, but I don't think I can. You should just.. kinda sense it. Good luck, you'll be more familiar with it along the way haha. Hope this helped ;)
He likes you. A guy doesn't stare at a girl so much if he didn't have feelings for her or find her attractive. Guys don't have lots of facial muscles, so when he is staring at you he is not concentrating on his facial features rather than a female who would show more expressions. Also, when a guy stares you up and down, in other words checking you out is kind of his way of saying "I'm considering you a sexual partner" (don't ask). He may of gotten caught staring at you, so therefore he looked away quickly because he was embarrassed. But if it is a recurring thing, then he may like you.
In arabic, halal means lawful as the opposite of halal is haram (unlawful).
In the context of food the word could be used in the manner that people in general have become familiar with the jewish word kosher. Although the Halal & Kosher dietary laws are not exactly the same. Basically referring to a food as permitted or considered healthy to eat OR the method to bless ( before slaughter) and during preparation/cooking of all foods.
Also used in conversation to refer to observations in some functions in daily life.
Halal are the guidelines for how to kill and prepare meat in Islam; somewhat comparable to Kashrut (i.e. kosher) for Jews, although entirely different in practice. I believe Halal has something to do with bleeding the animal to death. (Kashrut, of course, is all about painless death.)
Halal refers to the blessing made upon the animal before slaughter, the prayer made to Allah before the slaughter, the animal itself, and the meat product that is made afterward.
In its origin in Islam it referred to anything that was permissible, dividing all that was allowed with that which was not, in all aspects of Muslim life. It has developed to relate both in English and Arabic, as well as in Farsi, only to the practice of properly or permissibly preparing meat for food. It also regulates what animals may be eaten and which may not be eaten.
