To lose weight you must burn more calories than you consume. Thin is not necessarily good if you are flabby, untoned skin over bone. A person can be 'thin', but have a high percentage of body fat. To be strong and lean, you must burn more calories than you consume and also exercise. Weight training will build muscle mass and burn calories. Aerobic exercise such as running, cycling, dancing, swimming, fast walking, etc., will also burn calories and help to tone muscle and build a strong respiratory system. Try to find something you enjoy. Any exercise will raise your metabolism more than if you just sit around. Just starving yourself is not healthy and is an impossible situation to maintain. Eat a healthy, well rounded diet and get out there and enjoy some fun exercise and fresh air. Try to avoid emotional and compulsive eating. Also, even when trying to cut some calories, it's important to eat foods that are satisfying and that you enjoy. No need to deprive yourself. Love yourself and your body.

exercise, change the way you eat and make it a LIFESTYLE not just some spur of the moment diet. I've lost 48 pounds in 7 months doing this. There's a great website that helps you through it until it becomes a daily habit!

oh and also you can eat anything and everything you want on saturdays so you don't feel deprived of all your favorite foods..and going out to eat.

It's a tough road, but I had a lot of success with this book called The Movie Star Diet. I went to their website and it looks like they're only accepting preorders right now, though. I lost almost 60 lbs on it.
