Tongs should be used, or a spoon or fork. Would you want 20 other people pawing at your food before you grab it?

tooth picks!

Use the plain ones or the fancy ones with the little fuzzy ends in anything that they can be pierced with. Place the "food" on plates or platters with the toothpicks all standing up for easiest serving. Make sure you also place some extras in a shot glass or toothpick holder on the table.
This allows you to serve individual items without worry about bare hands touching everything. For things that would crumble or crack--like crackers--a serving spoon or tongs works well.

Finger foods are usualy served on a napkin or at more high end events on a craker or bread of some sort. they should be prepared this way befor presenting them to your guest so that no one has to finger the food but the guest about to eat it

Some finger foods usually have tooth picks in them to especially at parties. That way everyone takes one and eats it directly. You can also have cocktail forks for everyone and Tongs for taking food from a platter.

you can put out a serving spoon, or a bowl of tooth picks, or stick tooth picks into the food so it can be grabbed by that. Most people would prefer for politeness sake not to touch food at parties with their bare hands.

Most people are saying tongs and toothpicks. Alternatively, you could have plates ready with a mixture of these finger foods ready. So guests just pick up a plate each. If anyone wants seconds they just pick up another plate.

Depends upon what you're serving. Little brownies, they can pick up with their hands. Cocktail weenies require a slotted spoon to serve, but nothing more than a toothpick to eat.

Rubber gloves, disinfected face masks to retard germs being emitted from our mouths, sterilized toothpicks, a robotized server and extra sanitized napkins. I have decided that as long as a question is so easy that at least 10 people will have the answers, at least I can add a little humor for my two points. OK.

Please use tongs! I wouldn't want to eat off a tray other people are diving into with there bare hands ( seen to many people walk out of a restroom without washing there hands ) I even saw a nurse on the nursery floor do this . Keep it clean OK.

Well, depending on what the food is, you could serve it with toothpicks (ie- if it is raw veggies, you can provide some toothpicks so that guests don't have to dive in with their hands).
