Many people with herpes have reported that eating foods high in arginine, such as chocolate, peanuts and walnuts, may increase the chance and severity of outbreaks.

I personally do not avoid any kind of food. Food has never caused me to have an outbreak and I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.
