Not really... When compared to many other foods, Mac N cheese is loaded with carbs, fat and calories.

You could make it better by using whole wheat pasta, part skim cheese, and lowfat or non fat milk.... that would be better.

Regardless, it sure does taste good, doesnt it

Technically, you are getting grains from the pasta and dairy from the cheese, not to mention the calcium in milk and cheese, so it is something that helps your daily share of the food groups. It is very fattening though. You could try using a whole-wheat pasta and lower fat cheeses like mozzarella. If you aren't making your own mac and cheese, you can add things to it to make it more filling so you don't eat as much and you get something else out of it. Add broccoli or pieces of ham. Be creative!

Not really, but there are things worse for you. Some people say that excess dairy is not good for you, so obviously all the cheese would be bad. Cheese is fattening. Also, the pasta is loaded with carbs.

Yes! You just have to ignore the fat and cholesterol coursing through your blood, plastering themselves to your artery walls, and remember that good comfort food is good for the heart and soul!
