A vegetarian will not eat meat or fish of any kind, a vegan takes it a step further an d will not eat any animall products. For example no honey, eggs, gelatine, milk, cheese etc. Some vegans do not even wear leather shoes or other products made from animals.

CERTAIN TYPES of Vegetarianism consists of eating CERTAIN types of meat and poultry. Vegetarians also eat dairy products unlike Vegans who DO NOT eat any meat at all and absolutely no dairy. This is coming from a Vegetarian.

Labels are one thing, but people really vary in their eatings habits and reasons for doing so. You cannot lump everyone into one category.

I prefer organics. I don't eat red meat. I do eat organic eggs and consume organic dairy products. I will eat organic chicken and I do eat fish. I feel it's ok to eat eggs & dairy since the animals were fed an organic diet. To me it just seems cleaner, healthier and less cruel to the animals.

There is a lot of junk in feed that is fed to cattle/pigs.

I read the books Mad Cowboy and Slaughterhouse and then went off the factory farmed meats. It is a personal decision.

If I am on the road an unable to get my organic products, at times I will eat typical foods, but yet never red meats.

I also don't do gelatin products, since they're from animals that were fed impure diets.

It's difficult to find clean, healthy foods on a widespread basis throughout the country. Support organic farms.

Lacto-vegetarian: Fish "allowed"
Ovo-vegetarian: Dairy/eggs allowed
