HIV infection is transmitted through body fluids which include blood, semen, saliva, and all the secretions coming out of your body. Your way of asking gave me a view that you have a notion that HIV is transmitted by blood, the blood from periods in the case of your question. You will get HIV from someone who has an HIV infection. If your girl is infected probably you could have the infection if the protection you're wearing got something wrong, let say,got some holes, improper fitting,or any possible cause. It is a protection but won't offer 100% guarantee.

Uh, getting HIV has nothing to do with whether a girl is having her period.

If your sex partner is infected with HIV and you have unprotected intercourse, you risk being infected by the virus. It is also possible, though rarer, to be infected even if you do use protection, particularly if the protection is used improperly or is defective.

HIV is a virus, and it's the cause of the disease known as AIDS. It is possible to be infected with HIV without developing AIDS, and it is possible to be infected with HIV and not have AIDS, but to pass the virus on to another individual who will develop AIDS.

HIV is transmitted only through direct contact of a mucous membrane with a bodily fluid containing the virus. This can occur during intercourse, oral sex, blood transfusions, the use of contaminated needles, an exchange between mother and baby during pregnancy or childbirth, through breast milk, and by coming into direct contact with any infected bodily fluid - as if, for example, you were a policeman who was accidentally stuck with an infected needle while frisking someone who is being detained.

If you're that naive about the subject of HIV and AIDS that you think your girlfriend's period has anything to do with your chances of being infected, you really, really need to learn more. You shouldn't be having sexual intercourse until you know your risks and how to best protect yourself against them. You wouldn't drive a car without taking lessons about how to operate the vehicle - you shouldn't take your body out "cruising" until you know how to protect it, too.

not if you had protection and the condom didnt break. Does she have HIV? if you dont trust her you shouldnt be having sex with her. Why do you think she has HIV? a girl being on her period does not mean she has HIV..seems like you're too young to be having sex to me..

The probabilities are the same, with or without the period. The virus, in people infected, live in the body fluids, such as, semen, blood, lubrication. There's not a significant amount of the virus in the saliva, sweat and tears. Wearing "good" protection, you are safe 99 %. Be on the safe side always, never make contact with your bare genitals, hands or mouth to any infected body fluids. People with HIV+ can enjoy their sexual lives ALWAYS properly protected.

Probably not if you were wearing a condom. You can always get HIV, I don't think a woman having her period increases the risk much more than the usual.

Well...does she even have HIV?? If you used protection, most likely not. But just an FYI---her being on her period would be no different as if she wasn't on her period

There is always a risk in getting HIV even if you have protection. Rubbers only minimize the risk, not eliminate it completely.

Period doesn't equal HIV

First question is does she have HIV to give you? Just because a female is on her period does not make her poison.
