With me, I'm type 1 diabetic, Symlin is great because after I eat my blood sugar level is lower than if I had just taken Humolog. Also, Symlin decreased my appetite for several hours, if not all day. So weight loss is a side-effect I guess. I like it, and yes it is an insulin just as much as "insulin" is an insulin because technically they are BOTH hormones that your pancreas no longer produces. Hope this helps!

Symlin is not insulin, it is a synthetic hormone that decreases the rise in glucose after eating a meal, slows glucose absorption, and makes you eat less, with these properties it works well in conjunction with insulin to help you better control your diabetes. It is well tolerated and very effective.

Are you type 2? Sounds like a type 2 product. Most popular Type 1 product is Humalog, Regular and Lantis. All injected into the subq
