This girl has type 2 genital herpes, her boyfriend gave her oral sex several times. It was not during an outbreak. I shared a cigarette with her boyfriend and halfway through the cigarette, found all this out. Is it possible for me to get herpes in my mouth? (he has had no signs of having it) And can he get it in his mouth from her?

People can catch herpes even if the infected person shows no symptoms or isn't currently having an outbreak. Her boyfriend is asking for trouble, he needs to exercise extreme caution knowing his girlfriend has herpes. As for you, if I were you I wouldn't share any more cigarettes with this guy or put my mouth on anything his mouth touches. Better safe than sorry.

I don't believe that the material of the cig. is enough to spread herps. Ask a nurse or doctor to make sure then get tested.

Herpes Simplex Type 2 is contracted from oral sex so the girl has it!! And it spreads via bodily fluids!! Most likely her b/f got it too. When you get it, you have it for life!!!
So you have to be tested twice every 6 months to be sure you did not get already. If you have sores in the mouth, enlarged neck lymph nodes and may be fever: you got it!
Good luck

Yes, he can get it in his mouth even if she was not showing signs of an outbreak. Yes, you can get it from sharing a cigarette with him even if he was not showing signs of an outbreak. No, it is not curable. Do not share anything else with this guy. BTW, how creepy was it of him to tell you about his girlfriend's herpes?

It is possible, but not likely. It requires direct contact. If the cigarette had any of the alive virus on it from secretions from an oral herpes lesion, then it is possible to contract it.

probably not because of the tremendous amount of poisionous material in a "cig", your chances of getting lung cancer are far greater
