Not so much lately but I've had "Rocky Mountain" Oysters. For those of you that wonder what they are... think of Bull and Testicles... I also had alligator in Florida. Of course, growing up in France I enjoyed feasting on very varied foods like escargots, sweet breads, foie gras, veal tongue, veal head, head cheese, pig feet, stomach lining (aka tripes), wabbit, horse, all sorts of game, goose stomachs, blood sausage, andouillette (sausage made of chitlins), and lots of other innards! As far as being proud, I don't really see why that would matter. I may be wrong but I believe that Man is a predator and, although vegetarians and vegans will most likely disagree, I believe that it is perfectly normal for us to eat other animals and insects that make up our food chain. Besides, there is so much more to enjoy in a varied diet and so much more to eating than chiken or beef. I do, however, have some issues with the significant amount of food that gets wasted every day in most industrialized countries around the world.

PS: I can't stand it when someone who hasn't tried a certain kind of food claims that it is disgusting that others eat it. Enjoy life, try new things!

I had something called Porkbelly. It was an appetizer at a fancy restaurant.

There were three layers:

The first was a tender meat, almost like Canadian bacon
The second layer was fat
The third layer was an extremely tender and tasty meat

I'm very proud that I ate this, since it was delicious!

In the past: rattlesnake, alligator, raw beef, fennelhead greens, pumpkin ravioli, rabbit and cheesesteaks (not weird to me, but to others). PROUD OF ALL OF IT!

My lover Miyuki is from Japan, and he or she prepares some dishes that look extraordinary to human beings. How a pair of huge lobster in a huge plate with the shell cracked in many places and the flesh cut back into flower petal types? as quickly as I attain for extremely it, the lobster crawls away. I pay attention for shrimp, lest they chew my palms.

In Italy while with a country family, I had some lovely meat - it tasted like salt beef. I asked what it was and was told 'Cow's face'. Another day when I asked, I was told 'Baby cow's stomach'. They were both delicious once I got used to the idea...

Mexican food from some greasy, tiny, out of the way, next to a convenience store "restaurant" that had like three tables.

I always like trying new things...but this one didn't work out so well. Ugh.
