Yes... cheese and crackers are tacky but BUFFALO WINGS, oh, those are high class.
Don't serve something messy like buffalo wings, people have **** all over their fingers and will mess up your new house, yo!

Yes, fingerfoods is fine unless you are planning the housewarming at dinner time.
I have a great recipe for a dip.
2 rolls of sausage (fav is tenn pride)
2 cans rotel original
4 blocks of cream cheese
in large pot
brown the sausage and drain, crumbling it into small pieces
put it back into the pot, add rotel & cream cheese
stir off & on until the cheese is melted and everything is blended well. put into a crock pot on low to keep warm. you CAN make this the day before and just throw it in the crock pot the day of the party to warm it up, but it is served warm.
have tortilla chips and/or frito scoops.
you can also make bruschetta, those pillsbury mini chocolate chip cookies that you just throw in the oven...
you don't have do make anything fancy but yes, you should have finger foods at least.

Yes, snack foods. I would put out some spinach dip with pita chips or crackers, a veggie tray with baby carrots, broccoli, and celery sticks with ranch dressing, and bowls of chips or pretzels.

Make various small mini club sandwiches. Cut them into triangular shapes and hold them together with a toothpick. Decorate the sides with stuffed olives

Cheese and crackers is tacky and cheap to say the least. Buffalo wings....can't go wrong there. They usually come with ranch or blue cheese sauce, and celerey and carrot sticks. Everybody's covered!!

Absolutely, make it fun and easy though so you can enjoy it too. Make things in advance that you can put out and not have to fool with or tend to. Cheese rolls, tortilla roll ups, fruit balls, boiled shrimp platter, etc.. Set up a serve yourself bar.

Finger foods, or throw some hot dogs on the grill- you could turn it into a potluck.

Just go for simple snackies - chips and dip, cut up veggies, cut up fruit. You don't have to spend a lot of money, if you can't.
