No it doesn't trigger diabetes, but you may have diabetes, or hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). Hypoglycemia is often a precursor to diabetes. You should go to your doctor and have a test to be sure...especially since it runs in your family.

No nothing triggers diabetes. Do you have any faint feelings a while after you eat a high carbohydrate meal. If so, you may have a functional hypoglycemia, and a low carb diet will help.
