if one contracted herpes and already had a prior auto-immune disease (two actually, one crohn's and one a kind of arthritis) and a weak immune system due to taking immunosuppressant drugs, could it be potentially dangerous/fatal?
this is what i've heard and i'm nervous because i just learned that my love interest has genital herpes. he hasn't given it to anyone, but i'm really scared that with the slight possibility of contracting it, it could make me very very ill.
i also guess it seems hard to believe that in a long-term relationship its possible not to contract it.

I don't believe that genital herpes can be fatal in immuneosuppressed people. However, while healthy adults can have little or no symptoms during herpes outbreaks, immuneosuppresed people can suffer from longer, more painful outbreaks.

Herpes can be particularly dangerous in cases of pregnancy, and can be fatal to the baby, or an ocular infection of herpes can cause blindness. That's really, really uncommon, though. (Ocular.)

Remember, though, that herpes is spread even without open sores or other symptoms, and it is a very good idea to take an antiviral drug such as Acyclovir. (Or one of the other cyclovirs.)

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years back, when I was still in college and had a stupid one-night stand. I understand a lot of young ladies will declare this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date men again. After all, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/15bZ6 everything improved.

Not only was I able to remove all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to start dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everyone in a crowded restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This method provided the opportunity to be happy and experience true love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

You might get more outbreaks then the usual person does if you were to contract the virus from him, especially since you already have a weakened immune system. Herpes is not fatal though in adults, it can be for infants.

It's pretty difficult to be in a long term relationship and not have the other person catch it. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years. My first long term relationship was a little over 4 years, he never got the virus from me. My second one (the one I am in right now) got it from me about 2 months into our relationship.

I would really talk to your doctor about this next time you go. I really doubt it would be fatal for you though.

I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.
