Can you see a hair in it? I'm assuming its in your crease near your leg and privates. It's probably an infected hair follicle. Or a boil. Both of which are very common in the area where you have hair. Look these up and see if that's what you have. I don't think you have anything to worry about as long as you don't get bumps in areas where you don't have hair.

It sounds like an ingrown hair, or a pimple just like the kind you can get on your face. You don't need to worry about it unless it starts showing signs of infection or hasn't improved in a week or so. Signs of infection would include it feeling very hot to the touch and swelling up a bit more. Don't poke at it any more, as that is a good way to cause an infection. And try to keep it clean and dry and away from irritants (you may want to put a bandage over it if it's in the area where your underwear elastic sits, for example).

However, it's most likely nothing serious -- it's not uncommon to get these types of things in the groin area.

Without knowing anything about the details of you I would say do not make it bleed or scratch at it that would make any situation worse I would cover it with a hot towel for about a half an hour and see if it got any better it could be a lot of other things besides an STD ingrown hair, as you said pimple, or just iritation from new clothing do the heat treatment and see if no improvement tell someone you can trust to look at it and see what they say think about going to the doctor they have seen it all and won't pass judgement on you that's why they got into that wacky business to help people that need it don't be afraid if you have to go to the doctor.

Its likely a heat rash, a pimple, or some growth from an STD. If you've yet to travel the sexual path then you can likely rule out the STD. Especially if there is only one and this is the first signs you've had of a lump. A heat rash is generally formed from heat and friction. Considering these are the summer months it is likely that this is the case. To prevent it you should use medicated gold bond powder to dry out the area. Either that or wear breathable underwear so the area will stay dry and not swell oils and dirt. Oils and dirt are what create a pimple. Heat rashes differ from pimples in that friction is applied in heat rashes. They are like more intense and widespread pimples. Good luck. Keep showering.

Damn! It sounds almost like a staff...Or a boyle or abcess or something! But down there? Is it warm to the touch? Have you tried popping it? Well if white puss comes out, that's probably what it is. Be careful not to mess with it too much, if it is a staff, and you mess with it and dont wash your hands, it's highly contagious and could spread to other places on your bod! Does it seem to increase in size? Or have like a redish rash ring around it? On the other hand if it's a boyle those are absolutely normal...Mainly consists of clogged pores, just means you need to spend more times washing better! Your best off seeing a doctor, to be safe of course. You never know it could be something else and a doc's opinion is always helpful, especially when it comes to your health...Take care ok! PS...Dont worry about being embarassed, I'm sure doctor's have seen way worse!!!! Take Care!

I agree with kristen and SDD....sounds like a boil. I know from personal experience, I've had one before and ran all but crying to my gyno. thinking I had picked up a horrible STD. Hot moist compresses will help to draw out any leftover puss/gunk inside it, so my doctor told me. Just keep an eye on it...if it's not better in about 3-5 days, get it checked, it could develope into an abcess and have to be lanced....no fun there.

You should have went to the doctor as soon as you discovered it. Maybe it is just a hair bump but you should go get checked out.

Listen to me carefully-- GET ON THE PHONE AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH YOUR DOCTOR NOW. It may not be serious-but if you don't get it looked at, it can turn into something worse. I don't mean to scare you, but my brother went through a year of chemo because he never got a lump on his testicle looked at for a long time. Please, please, please go to the doctor. He/she is the only one who can legitimately tell you what is going on. Good luck!

See a dermatologist when you can. It's probably just a minor skin infection.
