Doing exercise can be dangerous in such a situation. What you might want to do is eat right, getting alot of rest, reduce stress, and do some walking. You might need surgery if it's serious. Your best bet is to see a specialist.

Doing exercise is recommended by any heart Dr it use to be rest and do nothing but all that's changed and depending on how far advance you are exercise will make you stronger and able to do more. The more active you are the better quality of life you will have. Check with your Dr see what and how to begin. Eating the right foods fruits,veggies,etc, cut out the high fat and salt content.Take all your meds and you will see a change.
Forgot to add booze is very bad and so is smoking.

Hello. The answer to your question basically depends on the *type* of cardiomyopathy you have.There are types which are inherited (usually a family history), and there are types which are acquired (sickness).
