I eat a lot of soy products, so I know the health benefits. If soy is so healthy for you, then why isn't soybean oil listed as a healthy oil along with sunflower, safflower, flaxseed oil, and others?

no, all fats are fatty acids, it is the type of fatty acid that is impotant, HDL cholesterols are what you need.Oils of the monosaturated fats like flax, olive and canola - they maintain good arteries and help rebuild cells!!! Bad fats plug you up. Soy is healthy due the abundant isoflavanoids along with the amino acids and proteins that are more rich in antioxidants.. It is healthy but the oils unlike olive oil is not as rich in the HDL arena and contians more of the ldl type of cholesterols. Try reading Dr. Andrew Weil, or study the diets of the centenarians - like of okinawa - the oils they eat are typcially monosaturated, and even fishy - and oils are healthy in respect to how much you eat in your diet... we all need fatty acids in our diet as they are part of the building blocks of cells- there is a lot of disinformation in some of these answers

All oils hydrogenate and collect transfatty acids, even soy oil, only to a lesser degree than say coconut oil.

Most healthy way to eat it is to eat raw soybeans, also called edemams.

I don't know about the oil, but I know that soy itself isn't always very good for your health, sometimes quite the opposite. I suppose the oil might have many of the same properties.

oils are processed and there's other elements added to the soybean product to make it smooth, give it a shelf life and make it less prone to bacteria.

read the contents... i bet you'll find one element in it thats got an animal protein in it.

watch out for processed products... alot is going on alot is done to the vegetable by the time it's sitting on the shelf waiting for you to pick it up and take it to the counter...

:D

no oil is healthy.

Because it is usually hydrogenated (although you can get unhydrogenated at some health food stores).

See the link below to learn the dangers of hydrogenated oils.
