I would choose Freddy Mercury, as I love Queen music and admired Freddy for his honesty and for his flamboyancy at parties.

I would choose Johnny Depp for his compassion and he can play piano (and he's scrummy).

I would choose my Granddad who passed away 2 years ago (he was 96) for conversation about the two world wars he fought for and because I miss him.

Finally I would choose Angelina Jolie because of the work she has done for third world countires etc. and she would be very interesting to talk to.

Brilliant post - I wish other people would do posts like this!

If I could have a dinner party of 4 I would pick Ashley Tisdale(Suite Life of Zack and Cody), Amanda Bynes(Shes the man), Chad Michael Murry, and Zac Efron(High School Musical). Why because The girls are hot and the guys are cool.

Katherine Hepburn: She was so fiery ... and so quotable.

Groucho Marx: The guy was just hilarious... and very intelligent too. His story is magnificent.

Nellie Bly: As an aspiring journalist, I'd want to know how she got away with being so ballsy all the time. She seems very scandalous.

Muhammad Ali: I actually met him 4-5 years ago in an Airport, but I'd love to sit down with him and actually talk. Hear him tell stories about "being the greatest."

If I had to choose 4 others:

Superman: Maybe he could teach me how to fly.

Santa Claus: He could teach me tips for 'The Nice List'

Phil Helmuth: This guy is an incredible poker player. Tips maybe?

Jesus: This was a no-brainer. I mean... God... yeah.

President Lincoln- I hear he was a real character, and that his face was like rubber, not like the solemn picture we see of him.

Ken Burns- He makes the most awesome documentaries

Jesus- I'd like to sit down to dinner with him personally and dispel the rumors that he was severe and somber all the time. I bet he was the greatest dinner guest ever and I'd like to see that for myself. I also bet he didn't speak in a deep voice and take 5 minutes to say a single sentence either.

King George III- Just to get his take on the whole American revolution.

I would like to have the "Big hairy bikers"who's adventures I have really enjoyed thought there are a few recipes that I might leave alone.
A great sense of humour and the ability to cook makes for a great evening.

To equal things out I would invite Nigella Lawson.

Could be a very interesting evening.

Yul Bryner, Frank Sinatra, Bet Midler and Diana Ross. All people I love/loved to watch and listen to on the TV, whether they are brainy or changed the world or not it would still be entertaining to sit down and chat with them and that's what a dinner party is all about, laughs and entertainment, right?

If you are not including me in the four, which would make five, I would choose Theodore Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, John F. Kennedy, and Henry Kissinger. Adventurous, humorous, down-to-earth, full-of-life, intellectuals. My dinner party would be reported in all the media!

If I could have anyone at a dinner party for four, there would be myself and my wife, my mother, and, from the past, my father. I miss my father and I think it would have been great had my wife been able to meet him.
