Why bluff your way through it? If theyre your friends it shouldnt matter if youve turned pink and have yellow spots!! Have them over but dont pretend your fine, dont be ashamed about being ill, why should you. Let them mollycoddle you and do what friends do best.
Fellow asthma sufferer.

Caffeine can help a little bit so have a strong cup of coffee. Caffeine can actually temporarily open up the airway passages. Keep in mind that this doesn't work for everybody, and it's only a temporary fix. You should probably go to the ER and have them do a breathing treatment on you, where you inhale the steam mixed with Albuterol. Do you have an albuterol inhaler? Do you take something to prevent the attacks, like Singulair or Flovent? Your Asthma is definately not under control, so you really should go to a Dr. and get on a treatment plan. Asthma can be very serious, so please get an Asthma Action Plan. Good Luck to you.

Call NHS Direct 0845 46 47 - that's what they are there for. They are always very helpful and caring.

Use your medication as directed. Stop smoking and avoid alcohol. Keep cool if you can.

Phone your GP's surgery if you are really worried (but NHS Direct is probably better as a first step). Worrying will make it worse. If you're hot, why not try a trip to the local swimming pool.

And tell your friends... It's not a weakness, it's a complaint and it's not your fault. I'm sure they will understand if they are good friends. Millions of people have asthma - you don't have to be the life and soul of the party, just being there is enough.

All the best,
bw

I feel your pain. I've had asthma for 14 years now and have seen several doctors. The truth is, there is no known cure for asthma at the moment. But the symptoms can be prevented. It really depends on what causes your brother's asthma. Mine is usually dust and hot weather. But I think the universal method is using the control inhaler.

I cured my Asthma the natural way?

If you are an ashtmatic and you are used to being treated for asthma then you should have an action plan as designed by your physician. Find your peak flow monitor, measure your FEV1 and take appropriate action. If you are having an asthma attack, then your friends can wait. I mean, what is more important...seeing your friends or being able to breathe? If you have a short acting inhaler such as albuterol use it and make sure you are compliant with any other long-term control medications you may be on.

well i am guessing you are getting very stressed out. stress is also one of the causes for asthma you know.
what you can do is take a nice hot bath and add some lavender, eucalyptus and peppermint, the more steam you get the better, and then sip some hot chocolate with just a pinch of coffee add in, take a deep breath and relax.

steam during your bath will help clear your chest congestion sue to asthma, the combination of lavender to relax you even more and the perky peppermint and cooling and antibacterial eucalyptus will help you relax and energize, the hot chocolate with a pinch of coffee with make you feel a lot better coz chocolate has been proven to make you feel happier and more relaxed, while the little caffeine for the chocolate and the extra zing from the coffee will help you relaxed even more.

so soak, sip, smile. and just stay relaxed and you can enjoy your evening

Why bluff your way through first off? They are your friends you would think they would be concerned about you not about how much you can hang with them!
If you want a easy out though HOT STEAM....then COLD! it might give you a bit of time.
I hope it all works out for you

In the short term I'd just say keep your puffer handy and stay away from smoke, animals etc. Using vicks on the chest sometimes helps. In the long term, cutting down on dairy products really helped me. Use soya milk instead of normal stuff. You'll get used to the taste, and I can't believe the difference.

My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his bronchial asthma has shown no signal of recuperating. He has been to numerous medical doctors yet they did not help a lot. in case you opt for a shown, all-organic thanks to treatment your bronchial asthma, without needing to pay for ineffective drugs with risky part-consequences, then it is the biggest web page you'll ever study.
