As a person you can consume anything. As a diabetic you have to control how much of a good thing you consume. I have been a diabetic for the past 12-13 years. That does not stop me from having good, tasty things. It means that I limit how much of a great tasting thing I eat. Instead of that big slice of cake, I have a fork full and watch my blood glucose for a reaction. Next time, I might have to forks full. And so on. I measure about 6 to 8 or 9 times a day. I still have an A1c below 6.5 and I am expecting my next A1c reading to be in the upper 5's, hopefully. So, enjoy a taste of life and watch what it does to you sugar level. If it causes a big shift, next time have a smaller taste. Diabetes is something to manage, don't let it manage you in the process.

anyone can eat anything....wether they should is a different story. Incidentally, I was told that honey is the best thing to use for sweetening food because it is basically pure fructose, which has less of an effect on blood glucise than sucrose or glucose.
Bottom Line: All things in moderation.
(Don't give an infant honey!)

Of course no food is off limits to a diabetic the only difference is diabetics have to measure their portions and provide coverage for their meals with insulin or pills. There pancreas does not work not their taste buds or digestive tract.
