It's the same thing, and both terms appear to be interchangable. Soy or Soya products are all made from the Soya bean. These beans are normally refered to as Soya, but sometimes when used in products (such as Soy Sauce) there is a tendancy to drop the 'a', but I am unable to find a reason for this.

unsure, soya is a major product of china.. i'm unsure if there's a major difference.
so far the only thing i seen is soya is a different 'english'... england says soya and americans say soy?
unsure... i just hear this "kings english" a few times when it comes to the difference to soy and soya...
so far i see the only thing that makes soy and soya different is what part of the world you're from.
pronounciations.

My god, my sister was asking me this exact same question about two days ago!!! (as she had a bottle of soy sauce and a bottle of soya sauce, and didn't know if there was any difference!)
We established though that they are the same thing. Just for some reason one is missing an 'a'. God knows why.

If you are referring to the bottles of dark brown liquid, generally 'Soy Sauce' is based on Chinese cuisine. It tends to have lots of extra salt, wheat and even MSG - look carefully at the ingredients before you buy.
'Soya Sauce' is based on Japanese cuisine and is - in this writers eyes (and mouth) - far superior. It has more variety (differing areas or styles) some made with soya and rice, or wheat - and some (Tamari - my personal fave) which have only added a little sea salt ('sea salt' should be one of the last ingredients listed) and is suitable for coeliacs!
But even in that there can be cross overs. I think to 'even things out' - even some importers of Japanese sauces are likely to call them 'Soy'.

"Soy" is the name more commonly seen in the United States.
"Soya" is more commonly seen in England.
I'm unsure of other English speaking countries.
