Not that I want to or anything, I was just wondering so that the next time I'm stuck in a closet and have gas I know when to stop.

I know its hard to believe, but the farts themselves will not
suffocate you.
Suffocation is the act of depriving yourself of oxygen. Farting
adds ... um ... things ... to the air, but those things won't stop
you from breathing (though they will make it less pleasant).
What counts here is what is the CO2 to Oxygen mix in the
closet - how much oxygen is left. If the closet isn't sealed,
chances are it won't ever be an issue though it may start
smelling pretty ripe.
However, you will release methane. Given that, the oxygen
in the closet may work against you if you light a match.

Is this something you really need to know?? I don't think a person could fart enough to use up all of the good air in a closet...even a small closet. Who'd want to sit in a closet and fart.....unless your stuff doesn't stink??

What else are you doing in that closet besides farting?
There may be other factors involved that would alter the air pressures such as the ratio of liquids to solids.

Too many. Mythbusters tested a variation of your question and as it turns out you would have to be farting for more than a year straight or something crazy like that.

Myth busters busted this one in one of there shows..it's not possible to suffocate yourself or anyone else with farts...although it will make your clothes smell nasty after awhile.

well if I eat boiled eggs all day then it would only take me one big one to pass me out in a closet and tha's for sure.
