I am giving my Cousin and boyfriend a combined party, they will both be 50. I need ideas for food. I am using a casino theme with Blackjack, Texas Hold-em and Pokeno etc. as games along with a DJ for dancing. But I need a color scheme and food ideas.

Well since you have a theme, the food and colors are easy!
The colors are red/white/and black. The color of cards. You can also add poker chips as decor. (they are cheap and if you are anywhere near a craft store like Michaels or Wishing Well load up on the decorations. To class it up add silver as well here and there.
As for food that depends on the number of people you are serving. The more people, the more toward finger foods and buffet you get. Also since people will be busy playing, a sit down plate full won't work as well. Here are some ideas:
Wings are a must. Hot wings, mild wings, teriyaki, etc. Always good always wanted.
Crab cakes as well (mix some crab meat with egg, crushed crackers, minced onion and garlic with a touch of mayo to form a small patty and fry until brown. (you may also add some shredded parmesan on top and put in the oven for a crispy brown top and extra flavor. If you like a certain spice add that too)

Here's a meal in your hand that is gorgeous as well as easy and tasty:
Get a large round of sourdough bread. slice off the top and hollow it leaving an inch or so of bread around the edge and bottom. put a layer of mayo or cream cheese mixed with chives on the bottom. Layer in thinly shaved deli meat (your favorite) press this stuff down tightly, then add a layer of cheese, a layer of roasted red peppers (you can get them in a jar) or very thinlu shaved pickles or tapenade then another deli meat and cheese etc. Avoid tomatoes and lettuce. When it's full, put a layer of mayo or cream cheese or spread of some kind on the inside of the top and replace it. Wrap it in plastic and put it in the fridge under heavy weight like a cutting board or very heavy plate and leave it overnight. Just before the party, cut the sandwich into wedges like you would a cake. It's beautiful on the inside and yummy and easy to eat.

OR make your favorite sandwiches, cut off the crusts and cut them into triangles arranged on a plate.

Decorate your food with card shapes made from cookie cutters (diamonds, hearts, etc) you can stack cheeses and meats and things and cut out the shapes and put a toothpick in.

Since it's hot, coat some grapes (both red and green) in sugar, then freeze. When you make your punch drinks or alcoholic cocktails, toss in a handful of frozen grapes. They look beautiful in a glass and will dress up even the dryest of champagnes. For kids, they are fun to eat when the 7 Up is gone.

Go to your nearest dollar tree or 99 cent store and look for dice and cards etc. All kinds of dice of all colors and sizes. They are fun for the tables and can be stacked and glued for decorations.

How about something different. You'll need cream horn molds from the local restaurant supply place. They are cheap little metal horn-shaped things.
Buy pre-made pie crust and cut it into 4 inch circles with a glass or jar lid or biscuit cutter. Wrap it around the cream horn molds and bake until golden and crispy. Let them cool and fill them with whatever you like. Get creative. finely cut veggie shreds like carrots and cucumber with some dill cream cheese, Feta, red onion and tomatoes, spicy shredded chicken, custards, whatever you want!
Okay one last thing and I'll stop I promise.
Cream puff dough you can also fill with anything. It's super easy.
1 cup water
1 stick butter
1 cup flour
4 whole eggs
one cup of water and one stick of butter in a sauce pan until the butter is melted and the water almost boiling. Add one cup of flour and stir, removing from heat. Let sit for ten minuts then add one egg at a time until all four are incorporated and the dough is very sticky.

Put your oven at 375 degrees and you can use a spoon or put the dough on the cookie sheet in any shape you want. It will triple in size at least so only use a little until you figure out what size you want.

bake 10 minutes or more until the puff are light tan in color. remove and cool. you will find they are hollow inside so remove the tops and fill with custard, flavored puddings, jam or fruit preserves and decorate with a sprinkling of powdered sugar
Other fillings:
tuna salad, potatoes mashed with garlic and cheese and onions, seafood, cucumber salad, brie and spicy chili sauce, whatever can fit in there.

Do a 50s theme like from Happy Days. You could do the red checked table things and serve things they ate back then. Just plain old burgers, fries, onion rings, hot dogs and sodas in big tall glasses.

The cake should have a texas hold-em table made on top with the birthday people holding the best hands.

Well....Mardi Gras decor and colors is always good. And as far as food is concerned, I'd go with lots of "finger foods" chicken skewers, shrimp, tiny sandwiches, cheese trays...etc.

well it depends on what kind of things they both like. It would also be to have some good music they would dig. Also if theyre both turning 50 its kind of loud fpr the elderly.
