I agree stevia is best. but you can't find it in grocery stores, you need to look in nutritional stores, because if stevia is marketed as a food item, the FTC, FDA will remove it from the shelves and close down the store. So Stevia has to be marketed as a nutritional supplement. Stevia is natural, and thus doesn't effect blood sugar hormones like regular cane sugar. And it's not toxic like artificial sweeteners. Did you know that some artificial sweetners turns to asbestos in your body. Also the US Military requires that their pilots not drink diet pop because aspertame (a toxic) clouds the mind?
OK, off my soap box now, but people need to know. :)

Try drinking without a sweetener, it really can be done! I gave up sugar in my tea and coffee years ago, and at first it tasted really AWFUL! But eventually you get used to the taste, and now if there is any sugar in my tea it tastes like poison! YUK!
Taking sweeteners away helps you to get rid of your sweet tooth, and if you are overweight that is what you need to do.

I believe equal is the best, it tastes like real sugar, i can barely tell the difference. I have used splenda in the past but not such a big fan of it.

I like Splenda. I don't use it to as a sweetener to drink, but mostly to cook. They have baking varieties for both white and brown sugar now that I find a great alternative.

The best sweetener is NO SWEETENER.
It takes a few weeks to get used to, but guaranteed that it will turn out that you like it.

i would say that is why they are fat. try not to sweenten the food / drinks. after living in europe for two years, i got use to know eating 'sweet desserts'. the cheesecakes especially, are not sweet like ours. now, if i eat american style desserts, it is way to sweet and can't take it. sugars are addictive.... stay away if you can or use natural sugars.
