a few days ago i found a bottle of valtrex in my moms drawer {she told me to get batteries but i opend the wrong drawer} i didnt know what valtrex was used for so i asked then you answered and helped me but now i need to knwo how herpes is spread??

It depends on what kind of herpes.
Cold sores (typically herpes simplex virus 1) can be spread by being kissed on the lips by someone who has them (even if they don't have any sores present). You can also get it from sharing chap stick or lip stick with someone who has cold sores.
Genital herpes (typically herpes simplex virus 2) is spread by sex and direct skin to skin contact. Even if the person is not showing any signs or symptoms of the virus, like sores, they can still spread the virus. In fact, according to Valtrex, 70% of people with genital herpes got it from their partner when they were showing no signs or symptoms of the virus. That's how I got it!
By the way, you CAN NOT get herpes by using a toilet seat or shower after someone who has it. Herpes is not spread that way. The ONLY STD you can actually catch from a toilet is pubic lice (crabs) and even this is REALLY rare! And you won't get it from touching the bottle either (give me a break!). Just wash your hands and you're fine.

herpes medicine, batteries , let me guess you found something else ,maybe a sex toy, and you want to use it, herpes is spread by all forms of sexual intercourse including sex toys, lubes ,etc. anything that comes in contact with the infected area,herpes is non-curable, but medicine can prevent out breaks of the disease.you shouldn't even touch the bottle of medicine because her hands touch her crotch and the bottle and if you touch the bottle and then your crotch or face you can contract the disease be careful be safe , stay out of your mom's stuff, . besides i think you were snooping. by the way this is no joke!

Yeah I heard herpes is a common thing like a cold sore. Cold sore is like herpes or is. They say u can get it by kissing or when at birth comming from the vaginal can be transmitted, and while you were a baby when strange ppl were kissing your lips or cheeks.

Did you bother asking your mother why she is taking valtrex? She could be taking it for shingles. Maybe you should ask mom instead of everybody else.
