My sister went vegetarian a while back; she said she felt sooo much better and lost quite a bit of weight. I would think so too, it makes sense. You should do it if you're considering...It's a win win situation...the animals don't get eaten and you lose weight and feel great! wahoo!

Some do, some don't, I gained weight! No, I did not consume Milk shakes and pile on the carbs, I ate veggies and tofu and nuts and dairy in moderation! I stopped being a vegetarian after 2 years. It was an awful experience.

it depend on what you eat more then if you are a vagetarion. just beacause you are a vegatarian doesnt mean you only eat vegies. there are many products that are are vegan/vegetarian that aren't healthy like suger, starch, oil and even some fake meats. if you are only in it to lose weight do't do it. when you are a true vegetarian your food costs go way up, eating out is much harder ( most place offer very little vegetarian on there menus).

Depends of course on your metabolism, how much you exercise, and the amount of calories you take in. Alot of great veggie food can be pretty heavy on carbs, so its important to balance out and watch the portions of what you eat. I love beans and rice, but too much of will make me chubby very quickly! Ditto peanut butter, a highly nutritious but very fattening food. Dried fruit too, sigh.

Yes. You will loose weight and feel more energetic and healthy. When you get down to the weight you want to be at, eat somc meat if you don't want to go all veg forever. Go back to veg if you start gaining weight back. That's what they do in Portugal, for one. It works. Try it! (Just remember to get non-meat protein in every meal.)
