It's so easy to become one, and so worth the change!!! And what doesn't support a cruel and inhumane process that no animal should have to endure. So why are you still eating meat?
P.S. "Because it tastes good" is a selfish and ignorant answer. If you knew anything about what the animals had to go through so you could eat them, their dead flesh wouldn't taste good at all.

And no, I don't eat own any leather, or silk, or any other product made from or tested on animals. And I am vegan, so I don't drink milk or eat eggs, and I my health is not suffering because of it.

I agree that humans are designed to eat meat, and am not against that. What I am against is the process that is inhumane, therefor I do not support eating meat. If there were better laws for factory farming, maybe things would change. Thanks to all who answered my question. There were some excellent answers.

I am vegetarian myself for 2 reason 1 health and 2 animal rights. there are a few main reason most people aren't heres a list:

1. taste
2. most people are to lazy to deal with it
3. cost - good veggies cost $$$, meat is super cheap thanks to the f-in goverment
4. people think just because we a re human and dominant its our right to do what we want to other living things

there are thousands of reasons why, most of then are lame

i dont think its that easy to become one as you say. im picky with my food enough already. it also depends on how you were raised. caribbean food is centered around meat. so basically i was raised eating meat. this is what your question sounds like to me:

Why aren't you a christian??

It's so easy to become one, and so worth the change!!! And it doesn't support a cruel and inhumane fate that no human should have to endure. So why are you still (*place religion here*)?

P.S. "Because i wasn't born christian" is a selfish and ignorant answer. If you knew anything about what Jesus had to go through so you could be saved, your religion wouldn't feel good at all.

do you see the example i am trying to make here?

I know all about what animals go through. I'm a country guy, we raised a pig and fowl and all that for our own food. I eat the fish my dad catches and the deers he shoots as well as standard meat eaten by most Americans. And the reason I do so is, to be honest, because it tastes good. Selfish? Possibly. Ignorant? Nope. Dead flesh tastes good, especially in a big stew or cooked outside over charcoal.

We are supposed to eat meat. It has vitamins and minerals that we need in our everyday diets that if I were to become a vegetarian, I would have to incorporate several new/different foods into my diet. I believe that it is a lot more hassle to be worrying whether you're getting enough protein every day when I could just have a steak for dinner.

And I have a question for you. Do you hate on carnivorous animals who kill for their food, i.e. wolves, lions, bears? And if you do not believe what these animals are doing is wrong, then it seems to me that you would be a hypocrite, because we as humans are carnivorous animals. It's all part of the food chain. We need meat to live.

I am sorry for all of the ignorant questions

I am a lacto ovo vegetarian and i tried to be a vegan but i felt really light headed and sick the whole time so i turned back to a regular vegetarian.

And I understand factory farming

Doesn't that make you want to release the animals and torch the whole place!!!!!!!

But animals who eat meat to survive are part of the circle of life.

And people who keep talking for the plant are dumb a$$es but really what would we eat.

I may eat milk and eggs but I shall never wear leather or wool for the rest of my life.

Some ignorant meat eaters are dumb a$$es

that is a good question. i am not a vegetarian, but i tried to be last year. Peta sent me a video and i cried through the entire thing. i didn't eat meat for 2 weeks, but then i started again. i feel really bad about it. i love animals and feel bad for eating them. hopefully one day i can have your strength and willpower to stop. i don't eat chicken from KFC and i still feel bad for not giving up meat. i guess it's just that when you are used to certain foods you ate your whole life it takes time to change. i agree that it is selfish, but i don't agree that it is so easy to stop. i don't think you can make people feel bad about it, but just inform them of other options. everyone is different. and if you think about it, most humans are just like animals anyway, so it's no wonder we eat meat like carnivours...
But, good job not eating the animals! maybe one day we will all stop, i hope....

Because not all people think about or care about the animals that provide our food. It's something that has been a way of life for years, and in order not to follow it, you have to have strong beliefs and self-control.

I'm glad you are happy because of the life choices you have made, but I don't think it's right to try to influence everyone who doesn't make the same choices. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and ways of thinking. I wouldn't sit here and try to convince you to start eating meat just because I do, I would respect your decision. And I would hope that you learn to do the same.

I tried becoming a vegetarian for about a month, but I could not get enough protein in my diet and felt drained the whole time. I was tired and crabby alot, so I gave up. I need a high amount of protein and meat is the best way to get that high of an amount without eating alot of carbs with it. So I gave up.

Because I get really sick after a while without eating meat. The Lions also kill the deer and i feel sorry for them but this is life. I do not kill animals for passion do not have fur coat etc.. but to eat them? Please.
Imagine there would be millions less chicken born if we did not eat meat. And the rest would be eaten by foxes tigers lions whatever. Paradise is lost forever...

Personally, I like to hunt down my own venison steaks. That's the best free range meat available. It's been done for thousands of years. I would LVOE to get my moose permit, that would fill the freezer for months. Oh and due to overpopulation, hunting is a must. Would you rather have these animals die a long slow death due to starvation, or thin them out through hunting for perpetuating the species?
