i'm starting to boycott walmart because they have jack.....i go in there to find certain items and nothing...and it would be a common item...or so i thought....and i didn't find the tofu in there until today...its placed with the fruits and veggies.

Check online for Co-Ops in your area. They're totally the best for grocery shopping, esp. if you buy bulk food stuff like beans, rice, coffee, granola, pasta, etc. Somc of there stuff is more pricey than supermarkets, but you save money on the bulk food. And their produce is local, as are their breads. Yum. And the atmosphere will pretty much be the opposite of a Wal-Mart. Yay! :o)

actually, in San Diego, we have the People's Co-op, and I gotta tell ya, it is the best damm food store I have ever been to, except for the Co-op in Moscow, Idaho. These little stores are a GEM. They have SO much good raw/organic/veg/vegan stuff. Try to find one near where you live.

Whole Foods or Wild Oats ....
Although they are a corporate chains, you will find a much better "HEALTHY" selection of foods there than ANY other grocery store, other than independently owned Health Food Stores. Plus, they are not that expensive either.
If neither of those aren't near you, go to Mapquest and type in Health food and your location....Great guide! I provided the link below for you.

2nd choice - Central market......

ukrops has everything u could possibly need.its a little higher than walmart but i know i can get what i need.i dont know what state u live in but they have super kmarts too.they r cheaper than ukrops
