The AIDS virus gets into the system immediately after you got infected but its AIDS effects has no definite time when it will affect the system. It could beshort period after infection or could be delayed 6-7 years or even more. For clarification I just would to differentiate AIDS virus from AIDS. AIDS virus (called HIV VIRUS) is the cause of infection which affects the immune sytem making it ineffecient resulting to different symptoms of an immune defecient that is why it is termed AIDS (ACQUIRED IMMUNE DEFECIENCY SYNDROME)

AIDS is the end stage of HIV infection. There can be a window period where the virus remains undetectable. This means the virus is in your body but cannot be detected by normal tests. The window period usually takes up to 6 months. Be careful during this time as although you test negative you can still pass on the infection. If a person infected with HIV follows a good health eating plan and leads a health life, they can live for many many years.

Specifically- as soon as semen, or blood is transfered either by sex, a bad blood transfusion, or something similar. The average time from exposure to the HIV virus to death (assuming its untreated) is roughly 2 years.
It may take a few weeks for the antibodys to show up on a test, however. So DON'T HAVE SEX WITH ANYONE UNTIL YOU ARE CERTAIN THAT YOU ARE CLEAN

Depends on how well your immune system is. First you contract HIV virus and it breaks down t-cells after the virus attaches to that then you have AIDS...
