Yuck! I guess you can if you want to... but it's much better if you cook it with other flavorful things, a little soy sauce for instance, fried sesame seeds work well... etc. It's wonderful to add into your vegetarian spaghetti sauce for some great protein

Tofu can be eaten plain but it's pretty flavourless. I find marinating it in garlic and soy sauce/teriyaki sauce before cooking enhances the flavour (unless you buy pre-marinated tofu).

As to cooking, I have heard of people putting tofu in things like smoothies but I also hear they taste disgusting! Even the Japanese cook tofu (bean curd), either by deep frying, stir frying or steaming. Me - I marinate tofu then stir fry it but it is a matter of taste whether to eat it raw and plain.

Plain or cooked.
Here is the problem tofu when you are cooking it..it hardly absorbs flavor. Except lemon juice, soy sauce and viegar and strong things like that.

So cook tofy seperately and marinate it then add it to what ever you want..like vegetables.

Tofu plain with salad and veg. raw works very well.

It's safe to eat right out of the package, but it's rather bland. I use tofu in a dish with a lot of flavorful veggies, especially tomatoes. The tofu absorbs the flavors.

Tofu is ready to eat out of the package. You can eat it hot or cold. Most people add something to it, or cook with it because it isnt very exciting all by itself out of the package.

You can also use it in place of chicken in any recipe.

There are countless ways to prepare it. I have my own favorites and you will discover some of yours. Have fun!!

It can, but it's better mixed in with something or even cooked.
It's the bean (as in bean curd typ thing) that thinks it's meat. That is whatever you mix it with, it tastes like. It used to be a good substitute for tuna- mix in with tuna, and tuna or no tuna, use it as tuna in your tuna salad.
