Using an oxygen supplement does not automatically mean a rise in carbon dioxide (cO2). I do agree that you may be feeling tired because your blood oxygen is low. Think of oxygen as nutrition. If your O2 is low....poor blood/cell nutrition. Also, as the first poster said....exercise is important. First of all...you need to be under the care of a physician. Your physician can recommend you to a pulmonary rehab person or facility where you can be educated regarding what you should do for exercise, food/meals/nurishment and the proper use of oxygen supplements....the benefits/dangers. They will help you to find a pace that works for you so that you can have a productive day and a restful night. We have 80 year olds playing tennis who use oxygen 24/7. Don't "rest on your laurels"....your assessory muscles will deteriorate. Get some help...beginning with your physician. You can feel better!

The lack of energy is due to the lack of oxygen. Yet taking in more oxygen makes you worse because of the buildup of CO2. Exercise can make you feel worse because of the extra demand your body needs for oxygen. I think that slow and steady wins this race as far as having enough energy to perform routine tasks and to doing those things that you enjoy. I am sure that maintaining your weight and eating wisely will help also. Depression can also make you feel like you have no energy. You should talk to your doctor about how you feel. And seek help if you need it.
