Yes! The thought of eating nother animal makes me feel ill. I used to as a little kid and as soon as i stop i felt soooooo much healthier, i used to have loads of problems with allergies, ashtsma and all that kinda thing and get ill alot but ever since then i've been completely healthy. It has been proven that if you don't eat meat you are like 50% more likly not to get cancer, die of a heart atttack or anything like that. Oh and what's with all the 'i'm almost a veggies' You either eat meat or don't.

Clearly you are going to get lots of veggies & vegans in this category (such as myself) - as well as a few meat eaters trying to prove themselves 'right'.
Eating fruits and vegetalbes is obviously something we evolved to do.. check out those grasping digits rather than claws, the colour vision to tell when fruits are ripe and the long wound up intestines that are so good at breaking down vegetable matter.
Carnivores tend to have black & white vision (those rods on the retina make for more sensitive attunment to prey's movement), very short intestines (it really doesn't do to keep meat locked up in a gut for too long) and some kind of weapon built in.
If we ever were supposed to eat meat it should be very very occasionally - nowhere near the three or four times a day that some western/northern hemisphere residents manage - more like three or four times a month!
Some are veggie for the health reasons; some for moral or spiritual reasons; many for animal walfare vs animal cruelty reasons. But all share an understanding of life that goes a little further than what you can find on the meat counter at the local butchers or supermarket.
I have been a veggie for 24 years, and I'm pretty fit, not a sandle wearing hippy (although, as it is summer and VERY hot, they have been on today! I can't even remember the taste of meat, and certainly have no wish to!

Well I mostly am vegetarian. I eat more vegetables and fruit than anything. I'm not a big meat eater, when I have a headache I find that when I eat meat it goes away, but what I eat is chicken, or a soup with beef in it. That's about it. I usually drink a lot of fruit smoothies, and eat fruited cereal, and cereal bars. I do like a breakfast burrito (that I make my self) scrambled eggs with cheese and crisp bacon, and potatoes. I've just got to have a little meat once in a while. I've got to have milk, for my bones, so I do drink that.

I'm primarily vegetarian. I like to supplement my diet with a little low fat protein like fish or chicken now and then. So If being 95% vegan qualifies, then yes... you're not alone. One of my favorite health sites is: http://www.chetday.com
Being type II diabetic, I've found eating mostly vegetables has helped me maintain my blood sugar levels far better than otherwise.
It's true that humans are omnivores, but most seem to overlook the fact that we are primarily vegetarian omnivores. Look at the health statistics of the rural asian populations where cancer, diabetes, and several other maladies are practically non-existent. Then look at people on the typical "western diet" where those diseases are at epidemic proportions. The only conclusion one can come to is the fact that eating rich, red meat oriented diets is simply not healthy.
'nuff said?

Yes a life long veggie. 23 yrs so far and I would NEVER eat meat or fish. My mum raised me as a veggie but told me when I started school that if I wanted to eat meat else-where then go ahead. But she'd also raised me as an animal lover so the thought made me SICK. Now I have a 1yr old daughter who is veggie and I'm planning to do the same with her.
I think the reason meat eaters answer questions in this category is due to their guilt so they try to justify their diet. I've had to deal with those people all my life. Its a shame.

Yes I am.
Christ alone knows why so many meat eaters bother to hang around in this category. They usually have some sort of problem with people not eating meat. What do they expect in a vegetarian and vegan category? Tips on how to prepare veal?

Yep, I'm a vegan have been for around a year and before that I was vegetarian for about 6 years.
I find it a healthy, rich and enjoyable diet and I'm sure there are huge numbers of other veggies out there on this site.
Some good sites to visit are www.vegansociety.com (good nutrition section and loads of good links), www.ethicalwares.com (for shoes clothing etc.) and www.animalaid.org (for campaign advice etc.)

I am what you call a lacto-ovo vegetarian, that is I use milk and eggs, sparingly. I was raised vegetarian. I have enjoyed much better health than my brothers and sisters who were raised the same, but who chose early on to eat anything that didn't eat them first.
