If someone gets tested for an STD and it comes back positive, they do NOT need to tell their partner by law or anything. It would be a good idea, and not to mention the right thing to do, but they legally don't have to tell their partner.

Chlamydia is a bacterial STD, so it is curable. It is treated with antibiotics. So, no, it will not stay in your body, once you finish the antibiotic treatment it will be gone.

Herpes, and HPV are a different story though. They are both viruses and currently there are no cures for viruses. So, once you get them, you will have them for the rest of your life. You can treat the symptoms of the viruses with medicine, but you can never actually get rid of them.

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a group of more than 70 viruses, some of which can lead to cervical cancer. Several strains of HPV cause external genital warts.

You should probably see a doctor and get tested yourself, even if he says he doesn't have it. Since he has cheated before I really wouldn't be surprised if he does again. Better to be safe than sorry. Good luck!

Clymidia is cureable. As long as you take the antibiotic the Dr. give you.

Clymidia usually is a sexually transmitted disease- if your partner hasn't cheated on you- You shouldn't be getting it. It should not stay in your body like herpes or HIV.

Chlamydia is a bacteria that will be completely gone if it is treated. It is possible to have an infection for a long time and not know you are infected...by both men and women. This is why women are routinely screened for it during there annual exams to catch infections that may not be known.
