Please, if you have questions about your wife's tests, go with her and ask her doctor. You can't get the full picture of what's going on without doing so, and you risk misinterpretation of data by "doing it yourself." With all due respect, I trained for 14 years to do what I do, and you can't get the information you need to practice medicine properly from the internet.

Cardiac output is a measurement obtained from calculating the HR (heart rate) x SV (stroke volume). The most important thing you can ask your wife's doctor is-what is her "ejection fraction"-this is a much more definitive measurement of her heart function and all treatment and meds are aimed at improving this value.

Cardiac output is the volume of blood being pumped by the heart in a minute. It is equal to the heart rate multiplied by the stroke volume.

The most important thing on cardiac output is the left ventricular ejection fraction. LVEF. Do you know what it says?
